Course 3 - Developing Student Process Skills for Inquiry Now Open!
Course Description
The process skills necessary for inquiry help students to think scientifically, successfully perform inquiry, and even provide students with the critical thinking skills necessary to excel in other aspects of their schooling and lives.. As science teachers, it is essential that we understand these process skills and how to foster their development in our students. This VLE will further teachers’ abilities to identify the developmental levels of the process skills and to redesign science activities in ways that will promote students’ continuing development of these skills.
Course Objectives

NGSS and and the importance of science process skills
How to construct a more complete and accurate understanding of the process skills of science and the central role these skills play in the learning of science concepts.
How to to identify the developmental levels of the process skills and to redesign science activities in ways that will promote students’ continuing development of these skills.

Teachers will be able to identify the developmental levels of their students’ process skills
Teachers will design lessons which give increasing responsibility for inquiry to students
